The Nanking Government has ofn» cially announced that all Chinese armed i'orces in Manchuria arc placed under the command oi Gcii' oral Ma Chusan, Governor of the Hei" lung Kiang Province, as a preparatory step to United Chinese action against the Japanese
A temporary Government has been established at Tsitsihar under the leadership of General Chang Chinghui, under Japanese supervision. Order has been restored.
A Harbin message states that Chinese officials loyal to Nanking are preparing to evacuate, and it is expected that they will be replaced by. officials appointed by the Japanese* extending the sphere of Japanese influence to the farthest point for many,
years. The principal student organisation* in this district have presented a combined petition to Nanking requesting a declaration of war on Japan.
