Francois C'oty, multi-millionaire scent manufacturer and newspaper proprietor, is the victim of ani astonishing law suit.
He married Madamie, Le Baron in 1900, when ho was earning £o" a, week. When lie was divorced, his wife claimed it ha If-share of his colossal fortune.
Coty agreed to pay )£ 3,440,000 in instalments and actually paid 5£2,400,000, but in view of the difficult times he asked his ex-wife to delay the final instalments.
Madame Lc Baron, However, has refused. She insists th at the colossal alimony be paid fonthwith, pleading that Coty is turning all his property into companies which, cannot be touched in respect of any ] icrsonal claim. The, matter is now before the Courts, and Coty is pleading; that he is entitled to time in view of the huge sums already paid.
