While landing, at. the Wigram'Aerodrome to-day, a baby aeroplane, built in C'hristchurch by leading Aircraftsman W. Dini, came in contact with power wires and crashed in a field near the aerodrome.
After taking off M.r. Dini found that tho machine, which was fitted with a motor-cycle engine, was under-powered and would not climb. He circled back to the aerodrome, but the aeroplane, unable to rise above the wires, nosedived into the ground, smashing the propeller and damaging the nose. Mr. Dini wag not hurt.
