LEVIN, This Day.
The Levin Racing Club's Meeting is being held to-day. Heavy rain overnight improved the course after the dry spell. The \yeather is fine but dull; and there is a fair attendance. Results:—
Maiden Race, of 75 soys; six furlongs.—First division: Gold Gleam, 1; Beaconsfield, 2; Granado, 3. Scratched: Celeste, Lady Noel, Pojesse, Waiforte. Won by a length. Time, lmin 14 2-5 sec. Second division: Haulbowlino, 1; Manawatu, 2; In Vain, 3. Scratched: Thermopylae, Mourosia, Willowmere. Won by a length and a half. Time, 1 mm 14 3-ssec.
Manakau Hack Hurdles, of 100 soys; one mile and a half. —3 Teuacre, 11.10, 1; 3 Whisogno, 0.3, 2; 8 Arrowhead, 9i5, 3. All started. Won by two and a half lengths. Time, 2nlin 45sec. After an inquiry into the removal of a liurdle before the race finished, the stewards withheld the stakes ponding further consideration. Dividends were paid out on the judge's placings. Weraroa Hack Handicap, of 90 soys; seven furlongs.—l Lyrical, 8.10, 1; 1 Fairway,- 5.9, 2; 5 Spearform, 9.4, 3. Scratched: Gay Court, Solitaire 11. Arvada, Kotahi Eka, Cereal, Calladon. Won by throe-quarters of a length. Time, l'min 29scc.
