MA CHUSAN STILL FIGHTING

SHANGHAI, 19th November.
Tho successful completion of Japan's swift advance across tho Chinese Eastern Railway was announced in wireless dispatches received in Pekin from Tsitsihar.' The message says that General Ma Chusan retreated from the city, which tho Japanese aro now entering, following a bombardment. Fighting'is continuing, with Ma Chusan directing forces from Taerha on tho Tsitsihar-Kdshan Railway.
Thousands of Chinese civilians on the Chineso Eastern Railway are leaving their homes and belongings and fleeing helter-skelter, despite the bitterness of the weather, with a temperature 20 degrees below zero.
