REFUSE COLLECTION
(To the Editor.) ' Sir,—l should be glad if you would afford me the opportunity of expressing appreciation of the efforts of the Wellington Ratepayers' Association (vide your issue of 'to-day) in 'drawing the attention of the City Council to .the need of a biweekly collection of garbage tins . during the summer'months; that is, in the congested areas of the city. A visit to some of the congested areas would result in the discovery of innumerable offensive garbage tins,- overflowing and surrounded by flies. Not' infrequently wou]d be found tins which are long past service and leaking badly.' Has'not the inspector power in such cases to call upon the householders or tenants to'- provide new airtight tins? I hope the. Ratepayers' Association will continue to protest until a more satisfactory service i£ given.—l any etc., , HYGIENE.
