MR. HOLLAND'S INQUIRY,

(By Telegraph.—Pre* Association.) OAMABU, 19th November. Mr. H. E. Holland, Labour Leader, addressed a meeting at the Waitaki hydro-electric works this afternoon, where he received an enthusiastic reception. To-night he addressed a large audience at the Opera House. Mr. J. M. Forrester, the mayor, presided. Also on the platform was Mr. Malthus, the Labour candidate for Oamaru. This is the first occasion upon which Labour has contested the .Oamaru seat. Mr. Holland referred to the wheat question, and said that the Labour Party would not let any industry ia the Dominion be injured from outside, Some 50,000 people were dependent upon wheat production for a living. In some parts of New Zealand it was true the price of bread was abnormally high. He had gone into the question of tha high price of bread, but could not find that the wheat farmer got the benefit of tho high price. Labour would investigate' the production of wheat and of flour, and would look into. tha operations of the wheat industry gene» rally. ■
