CAMPBELL RETAINS TITLE
(By Telecraph.—Press Association.); TIMARU,/l9th November. A, piofessioflal. boxing contest for the i heavyweight championship of Australia and New Zealand, held jfco-night between Alan Campbell, Timaru, the holder, and Jack O'Malley, Australia, the "challenger, resulted in a win for Campbell on points. The contest went the full fifteen rounds, at the end of which Campbell had m fair margin of points in his favour. O'Mallcy was the aggressor, but failed to connect cleanly. He scored well in the in-fight-ing, his footwork was very clever, and he got out o£ trouble on several occasions. O'Malley took a lot of punishment, and went for a knock-out right to the finish, but was unable to penetrate Campbell's defence. 4 The fight was a good, clean one, and the decision was well received.
