HUTT
MR. KERR AT ALICETOWN
Although a few very noisy ones attended the first public meeting of Mr. James Kerr, Coalition candidate for the Hutt, in the Congregational Church Hall at Alicetown last night, the great majority present were supporters of Mr. Kerr, and he was given an excellent hearing. Mr. Walters presided over a large attendance. Mr. Kerr, in spite of frequent interjections, with which he dealt most effectively, outlined in brief his and his party's policy, a subject on which he will speak more fully at Petone on Monday night. A motion, moved by Mr. Wylie and seconded by Mr. Shepherd, "That this meeting of Alicetown electors thanks Mr. Kerr for his very able address and expresses ita complete confidence in him as the Coalition candidato for this district," was carried by a large majority.
