HOUSTON,. <3th November. Addressing the National Grain Convention in Houston, Texas, Mr. Asher Howard, a leading Canadian gram dealer, said that the Farm Board experiment in wheat buying cost the taxpayers of the United States £60,000,000, ■ and the Canadian wheat pool cost . Canadian farmers £20,000,000. .. ■ . "The wheat pool operated in Canada for eight years," he added, "and nonpool farmers got more every year than pool members. The Canadian pool used printers' ink, radio, and tho platform continuously to denounce a system to which they have nowreturned."
