Bayer, in 1900, told tho medical profession of their new discovery, called Aspirin. Bayer asked physicians throughout the world to adopt it in Insomnia or sleeplessness; having demon strated that it would quiet excited and overwrought nerves without harmful effect. Now millions find repose without tho use of narcotics and habitforming drugs.
Don't experiment! Be sure you obtain only the genuine Bayer Aspirins sold by chemists in boxes containing 13 tablets and bottles of 24 aud 100 tablets—tho Bayer Cross trade mark appears on every tablet. REQUESTS TO CITY COUNCIL
A deputation of relief'workers, introduced by Mr. T. Barker, president of the General Labourers' Union, waited ou the City Council last night in regard to transport and other matters.
The members of the deputation requested that men on relief works should be transported during working hours if possible, and not delayed after 5 p.m., and that payment should be made on tho job by tho foremen. It was slated that the men had to wait for nearly two hours in a queue at the depot, and that by the time they werepaid it was often too lato to shop in town. Men from the AVilton Block had to walk a considerable distance, and there were insufficient trains at Wadestown about knocking off time to take the men away in a reasonable time. The request was made for tho issue of tram tickets either at the pay depot or by tho foremen on the job. The suggestion was made that more pay boxes at the depot would obviate standing so long in the queue.
The Mayor promised that the matters raised wouid be gone into.

An.offer to contribute £75 towards the cost of modern bathing and sanitary conveniences, stome one hundred yards on the north side of the Kona Bay Wharf, was contained in a letter received last night br the Kastbourne Borough Council from Mr. B. He asked the council not to grant facilities for the sale of refreshments on premises controlled by it near the wharf. He was willing to provide a further sum of £23 towards the cost of a parking.area for fifty cars, to be built near the bathing sheds, cither at the same time or at a later date.
The signatures of fifty-two ratepayers of the borough were attached to a letter urging upon the council the necessity oi' providing bathing facilities at liona Bay to bring it into line with Day's Bay, with which it now compared unfavourably iv that respect.
The council expressed its appreciation of Sir. Hammond's offer, which was referred to the AVorks Committee for a report to t.ho next council meeting.
