YOUNG ATHLETES
Td-MORROW'S SPORTS. A high standard of performance has been shown at the sports meetings held by the secondary schools this season, and in the various grades provided for at the combined meeting to be held at Athletic Park to-morrow, the array of talent should be very fine indeed. Each gathering of the representatives of the combined secondary schools has brought to light young athletes of outstanding ability, and to-morrow's big meeting should be no exception to the rule, especially as there are talented young performers capable of covering over twenty feet in the long jump, or leaping over sft in the high jump, of. running the 100 yds in well under llsee, and of making excellent times over the longer distances. With the best from the various schools taking part, competition is bound to be very keen, and this in itself should make the long series of events very interesting from start to finish. The efforts of the boys to win honours for their schools will also create keen interest sp far as the schools' championship competition is concerned. The entries are so numerous that it will be necessary to decide many of them —mostly heats—in the morning. The afternoon's events are to be commenced at 2 o'clock.
