AUSTRALIA EXEMPT
OTTAWA, 6th November. Australia of all countries wher*> the currency has depreciated is not subject to the dumping duty which Caiiada has introduced. The dumping duty was first applied against British goods, because of the depreciated value of the pound sterling, but has been extended. Australia is exempt because, tn'.der Article 5 of the Caiiadian-AustraJ'.ian Trade Treaty, no dumping duty can be applied against the Comnl.onwealth. China, Japan, Norway, Sweden, D enmark, and other countries are included in the recent order.
