ATHLETICS AT OXFORD
LONDON, 16th November. In the Oxford University trials in preparation for the meeting with Cambridge in the relay race, the Adelaide student, Lee Steere, and the Sydney student, O. M. L. Davies, each won a heat in the 220 yards hurdles. J. 11.I 1. Comes won the mile in 4inin 22sec —a track record. A New Zealander, J. E. Lovelock, was second -in the mile, and a Queenslander, Mahoney, was fourth. Comes won the half-mile in lmin 50sec. A Sydney student, Wansey, was .second, and Mahonoy was third.
