WELLINGTON CENTRAL CANDIDATES
MORE OPENING ADDRESSES
Two of the candidates for Wellington Central opened their campaign last night, and both found that there were others in the hall besides themselves who wished lo be heard. Mr. R. Darroch, the Coalition candidate, stressed the need for financial stability and advocated closer land settlement. He described ihe Labour Parly's policy as one of specious -promises. Mr. fv W. Nicolaus, Citizens' Movement Independent candidate, put forward a '"single lax" system under a new name, and claimed thai it. would solve all the economic difficulties of ihe present lime. At Pelonc the Labour candidate, Mr. W. Mash, opened his campaign lo a crowded audience, and the Coalition candidate for Wairarapa, Col. T. W. M'Donald, made his first address at Carlcrlon. Other candidates continued'their campaigns.
