LODGE MEETINGS
The fortnightly meeting of Patffie Lodge, No. 8, U.A.0.D., was'held;last "Monday night, A.I). Bro. H. Kuch presiding over a fair attendance. Sick pay amounting to £48 18s was passed, for 'payment.-- ■-.Vis--itors'to the lodge included a team from Maraen.ui Lodge, 1.0.0. F., challengers for the Wellington United Friendly Societies' ?'500" shield. The game resulted in-a win"' for Pacific Lodge, this being the sixth time in succession Pacific :Lodge has won the shield. .' . Instead of the usual business.-meeting of Kilbirnie Tent, No. 82,' 1.0. E., the most recent gathering of members took the form of a mock, banquet. Invitations had'been issued .to officers of city .and suburban, .tents, and there was a good response. Among those; present .were. Bro. Bascand, D.C.R., Bro,'-Bathers, D.5.,. Bro. W-ilsoji, -Prov. C.R., Bro.-Jobson, Fergußon;-;Tofferys, Soanes,' -Ward,"--RaShy and.Sister Wiffen. The proceedings opened with the loyal toast, after which Bro. F. Johnson, C.A. (chairman) esteuded-a welcome to the visitors. - Sister Johnson proposed the-toast-of-"The District C.R.," to which Bro. Bascand replied, .appealing for members to co-operate and asking for leaders in juvenile ■ work. Other toasts' were as follows: —"Provincial Council," proposed by Bro. Hildreth," reply Bro. Wilson; "The Sisters," Bro.' H.. Johnson, reply Sister Badger; "Kilbirnie Tent," Bro. Jobson, reply Bro. Fathers; "Sister Tents," Bro. Anderson, replies Bro. Ward" '(Hope of Wellington' Tent); Brov Ferguson, (Perseverance Tent),. Sister Wiffen j[Exeelsipr/ Tent), Bro. Bascand (Pride of Christchurch Tent), Bro.-Wil-son (Star of Petone Tent), and Bro.
