Barometer. —Yesterday, 9 a.m., 30.20 in; today, 9 am., 30.09 in. SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. Since last night there has been a moderate fall in pressure over the South Island, but verylittle change in the north. North to northwest winds have prevailed, moderate generally in force, but strong and squally at times about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Fine, warm, and sultry weather still prevails, but some Isolated rainfall has occurred in South Wcstland and the extreme south.
