FLAGS AND FLAGS
In the course of his address at Clyde Quay last evening, ■ Mr. B. Danoch, Coalition candidate for Wellington Central, referred to Mr. P. Fraser as saying that he (Mr. Fraser), as a free thinker, could not stand for a certain opinion. "Who did you say was a free drinker?" asked tho inevitable wag. At a later stage the candidate was requested to "give us your policy." "He can't give, us what ho hasn't got," remarked an elector. Mr. Darroch referred to a discussion Mr. Fraser had had over tho Eed flag, tho black flag, and the Union Jack. A voice: "Oh, stick up the Blue Peter and get on." Another: "You ought to take the flag home and use it as a blanket." Mr. Darroch: "If you do me the honour of electing me as your member —" A voice: "You will give us all little flags."
