POLITICAL MARRIAGE

WHAT WILL BE RESULT ?

After having quoted figures which he claimed refuted certain statements made by Mr. Forbes and his "new confederate," Mr. Coates, Mr. R. Semple, Labour candidate for Wellington East, dealt in humorous vein at his meeting last night with tho formation of the Coalition Government. "You are all quite conscious of the fact," said Mr. Semple, "that we have had a political marriage. The wedding bells are still ringing, but I cannot tell you what the result is going to be. (Laughter.) I hope—l trust —that it is not more poverty." A voice: "Who's going to be boss?" .: Mr. Semple: "I don't know; there'll be a row about that later. (Renewed laughter.) That is rather a rude question to ask, you know."
