TRADESMEN TO BLAME

FORGERY TOO EASY

SALE OF BLANK CHEQUES

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH,-This- Day. Sentencing a prisoner this morning for uttering valueless cheques at New Plymouth, his Honour Mr. Justice Beei condemned tradesmen who had sold him blank cheques. Although their identity was unknown it was a pity that the law did not subject to fine th« persons acting thus, he said. It might have been considered whether such action should not render them liable to an action for damages by those on. whom the forgery was made. Such, facilities made forgery too easy.
