It is not an everyday experience now to find the upset price for land largely exceeded in bidding.:--.. That happened at tho Dunedin Lands Office, however. A section at the Janeflold settlement, containing 10 acres, was submitted at auction, the upset price being £.800. There was a large attendance, and the bidding was spirited, the section going eventually at £1230,
