REQUEST CANCELLED
REFORMERS WANT A CANDIDATE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
WAIPUKTJKAU,. 17th November. At a meeting of the Waipawa branch of the New Zealand Political Reform League this evening the following resolution was passed:—
"That this branch, after earnest con : sideration of the political situation in tho Waipawa, electorate, cancels its request to Mr. J. D. Ormoud, jun., to withdraw from the contest in favour of Mr. A. E. Jull, for the following reasons:— 1
"(1) The insisted demand from'a large body, of electors that tho people of the Waipawa electorate should not be disenfranchised on this occasion; and
"(2) The Coalition which tho branch supports is between %he Keform and United Parties. only, and thero is ' a grave danger of the election of an Independent candidate if Mr. Ormond withdraws."
It was felt by- the meeting that it, would be better to allow tho electors the choice between candidates representative of and chosen by the two parties forming the Coalition.
