SKATING RINKS.
At Iho St. George Skating Rink, a grand carnival night will be held on Friday next from 8 p.m. to 1.30 a.m. plain or fancy dress Is optional, and tickets are to be obtained at the rlnl< office. Prizes are to be awarded for waltz and two-step competitions, most graceful lady, most-graceful couple, best fancy dress, most original character, most comical character, and a special prize, given by Mrs. W. Hicks, Is to be awarded to the most graceful lady skater among tills year's learners, The Glide Skating Rink In WakeOeld street continues to grow In popularity, sessions held lv the lunch hours from 12 to I and from 1-2 p.m. being particularly popular with city workers. During the summer months the management have decided to alter the times of the evening sessions, which are now as follows: Learners, from 6.45 to 7.45 p.m., and the main evening session from 8 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. dally, except on Saturdays, when the session Is extended to 11 p.m. During the summer flannels with open-neck shirts will be permitted at the rink. Members of the Glide Skating Club are reminded that club night will be held to-night.
