SHANDON CLUB
The November bogey (the last official fixture for tho winter season) was played on Saturday by the Shandon Golf Club, Tho best cards returned were those of J. S. Hunter (5), E. M'Carroll (11), and D. M. Boyd (15), all 1 up. Other cards were: M. R. Bowring (4) and G. lv. Blown (18), all square; A. Barnett (12) and J. C. Low (14), 1 down; R. T. Poole (7) and A. T. H.awken (14), 2 down: L. R. Bowen (9), K. Jeffery (12), J. Taylor (14), W. R. Stuckey (8), H. M. Frazer (I' 2), and S. Hunt (18), 3 down. The closing of the winter season takus place next Saturday afternoon Mixed foursomes are being played.
The linal for. the president's trophy was won by C. T. Brown (on handicap) from J. S. Hunter, 2 up. In the semi-final for the Vance Cup (on handicap), P. Couchman and G. K. Brown won from Bishop and Poole, 2 up. In the final Frazer and Cornwall won from Couchman and Brown, 5 and 3.
Titahi has invited Watt Cup players from Shandon, Manor.Park, Waiwetu, and Paekakariki Clubs to assemble at Titahi links on Sunday for a "field" day. W. R. Stuckey eliminated L. Cornwall (on handicap) in the semi-final for the Wilford Cup. In the final Turner beat Stuckey, 4 and 3. The Shandon Club has finalised a scheme for watering the greens during the Bummer season.
The Andrew trophy was won (on handicap) by J. B. Melvin from M. K. Bowring, 3 and 2. A four-ball bogey tie (on handicap) was iwon by Bowen and C. T. Brown, 1 up, Hiinter and Swan being square.
