DEFEAT OF FULL MARK
Full Mark's defeat in the Subuiban Handicap at Riccarton on Wednesday last was due to no fault of his own, but was probably chiefly brought about, through - his being carried out and eventually sent off the "course by the winner, Otflsflight.1' . The incident happened (about, half;, a mile from .home. Owlsflight at that point was falling back 'owing to incapacity to go, the pace being set, and Full. Mark had .to attempt to go round him. It "was then that Owlsflight got properly into his stride, and, hanging out, he toot F.ull Mark with him. Full. Mark was' forced out -very wide, and at the home turn he was right off the course. When properly straightened lip the field were well ahead of him on the rail, ~and his rider was' thereafter unable to retrieve the lost ground on him.
