Arrow .Lad has been a regular visitor to the Canterbury-Jockey Club's Metropolitan Meeting for the last four years, aiid He has always returned North with atoie. share -of. the stake. However, he has yet to - fun ■ in.to • a place in- the Stewards' Handicap, the race in which he lias stepped out on each visit. - . In 1028 he won the Criterion Handicap tm the; second day. The next year he ran second to Full Feather in the Jockey Club Handicap on the third day, and last'year he was second. (to Lady Pam) in the Criterion and third in the Jockey Club Handicap.. This year he did not start in 1 the Criterion, but won the Jockey Club Handicap1 and was third in • the Members', Handicap on the final day. > " Arrow _Lad .is now seven years old, bvk lie is ■wearing well owing to not being , over-raced. His owner (Mr. E, W. Collins) does not intend to give him any more strenuous' time this year than pre; viously,' fend at the close of the. season "he may sell him to .make room for a promising Greyspear two-year-old that he has running on-his farm.
