"GOODWILL" CARGO

TRANSHIPPED TO TORONTO

(Received 31st October, 8 a.m.) TORONTO, i!9th October. Plying the Australian flag from the masthead, tho freighter City of Toronto docked on Thursday from Montreal, bearing a "goodwill" cargo from Australia. An official welcome was given by the Board of Trade, the Canadian Manufacturers' Association, and representative business men. Tho hope that inter-Empiro trade proposals would result from the suggestion that an Imperial Economic Conference be held as soon as possible was expressed by the Australian Trade Commissioner. The cargo included two kangaroos, the gift of Queensland. They were led ashore and presented to the Mayor, Mr. W. J. Stewart, by Mr.MacGregor, Australian Trade Commissioner.
