The closing function of the season of tho Parliamentary Union was held in the V.M.C.A. recently,. The first part of the programme for -the evening was taken up by a discussion of plaus for next year,. and this was followed by prepared speechos by members on important topics of the day.. It was then decided to adjourn to "Bellamys" for refreshments and" the toasts of the evening.' •.-■*. ~ •" , \ • Mr. It. P. Staples, a.director of thb V.M.C.A. and president of the Parliamentary Union, congratulated members on the success of tho union's activities during tho season, no :small moasuro being due to the interest taken in the club .by the general secretary, Mr. Lon Qreenberg. Mr. Staples went on to say that tho union possessed quite a number of- good speakers, and that-no doubtvlater years would find some' of theni in public life. During an interlude Mr. Gooff. Perry entertained members with a number of new conjuring tricks.
