PETONE POST OFFICE
WAS A PROMISE BROKEN ?
An inquiry as to -when tho new post office at Potono would be erected was addressed to tho PostmasterGeneral (the Hon. A. Hamilton) in tho House of Representatives last night by Mr. W. Nash (Labour, Hutt).
Mr. Nash said it was being said in Pctcme that if the people had returned the United Party candidate at the byelection the post office would have beeu an accomplished fact by now. A promise had been definitely made in L 930 that tho post office would be erected, but the ex-Postmuster-General (Mr. J. B. Donald) had not kopt the promise. The Minister said it' a promise had been made it would be kept, and so far as ho was concerned politics would not enter into the matter at all. He agreed that tho new post office was needed,
