The fdtmer failed twice at the recent Wellington Meeting, but looks well enough after her racing. St. Roger (A. O'Neill) ran the last half-inilo of five furlongs on the plough in 512-sscc, doing his work nicely throughout. Capetown (Dick) finished a length in front of La Parleuse (Shand) at the end of half a mile in 513-sscc. W: Broughton is to ride throe members of W. Hawthorne's team (Capetown, Foghorn, and White Squall) on Saturday. Cape Gold (L. Daly) beat Fairwind by nearly a length over six furlongs on the plough in lmin. 20'4-ssec, the last half-milo in 54 3-ssec. Cape Gold was doing it easily in the straight, and Fairwind made up much lost ground over the final furlong. Eed Sun (C. Scott) ran an easy sis furlongs on tho plough. He will be ridden by J. If he starts at Carterton 1 will bo ridden by I. Tucker. Araios (O'Neill) raced past Mati Chimes (Sinclair) at the start of the half-mile, and finished up three lengtl in front, his timo being 51sec. H. OKAY'S MOUNTS. Flower and Shootist did useful wot separately over rounds. Ephialtes re a mile at a good three-quarter pac sprinting homo the final furlong. I Wilson will ride Flower and. Autopay, topweight for the CJ.C. Stewards' Handicap, was back on the track this morning after having been physicked, but was not asked to work fast. Ho will be ridden at Biccartpn by A. E. Ellis. T. R. George, trainer of Croupier and Kozan, states that both horses will contest the Stewards'. L. J. Ellis will be on Croupier, but no rider has yet been arranged for Kozan.
