BROADCASTING CONTROL
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Iv view of the present controversy concerning the public ownership of broadcasting in New Zealand, tho following extract from a recent speech by the Director-General of the 8.8.0., 8k John Keith, is o£ special interest: "It should bo the aim of the broadcasting authority to bring to the greatest number of people as much us possible of contentment, of beauty, and of wisdom (wnich comprehends knowledge and much more besides) —and this over every range of worthy human endeavour and achievement." This is the aim of the 8.8.C., an aim which it appears consistently to have curried out. This admirable statement surely adds further support to tho arguments which have been advanced for the wiino type of control of broadcasting in this country.— I am, etc., A. E. CAMPBELL.
