MESSAGE OF HOPE

FOR DELICATE CHILDREN

The Postmaster-General (the Boa. Aaam Hamilton) announces ■ that "charity" stamps will be placed on sale at post offices on Saturday next, the 31st instant, in continuation of the anti-tuberculosis campaign commenced in the Dominion at the end of 192». On this occasion two denomination* of "charity" stamps will be available— 3d and 2d. In each case Id ii to be devoted to the fund out of which children's health camps are being established. The 3d stamp is for use oa letters, etc., on which 2d postage is required, and the 2d stamp is for use on Christmas cards, newspapers, packets, and other articles on which Id postage ii required. The Postmaster-General added that there was urgent need for united ac« tion to prevent the spread of tuberou* losis amongst children; and'he hoped that, notwithstanding the present difficult period, all members of the community would assist to the best of their ability. By buying "charity" stamps they would be assisting to reduce the number of active cases of tuberculosis, and would thereby be safeguarding their families and themselves. Only a little was asked, but that little was asked of everyone. During.the next few days many people would,be posting Christmas cards and newspapers to their friends overseas; and the Minuter hoped that when doing bo sender* would remember that a special denomination of "charity* atamp had best provided this year for suck articles, _
