BENT FOR CHEMISTRY
YOUTH STEALS APPARATUS

AUCKLAND, This Day
A youth of seventeen who three times has broken into premises and stolen apparatus for his chemical experiments, apeparcd in the Police Court to-day, charged with the theft of glassware, valued at £12, the property of the Auckland Gas Company, whose laboratory he had entered through a -fanlight. It Was stated that the instruments had been recovered intact rind no attempt made to dispose of them. The youth had a bent for chemistry and apparently was unable to resist the temptation to steal instruments he could not afford to buy. The Magistrate remanded the accused, Keith George Brierly, for a report from the Probation Officer. Bail was allowed.
