EASY WIN EXPECTED
BRITISH ELECTIONS
ANNOUNCING RESULTS
United Tress Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received 27th October, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 26th October. Tho extent of the co-operation of the parties within the Nationalist bloc is shown by the sweeping reduction in three-cornered fights. In 1929 there woro only 102 straight, lights, Labour winning over a hundred seats on minority votes. Tuesday will witness 409 straight fights. Thus everyone expects an easy Nationalist victory, but every effort is being made to prevent slackness in getting the voter to tho poll in order to show the outside world a sweeping majority of the nation in favour of sound finance and a balanced Budget. Even the inner council of Labour expects to lose eighty seats. Stock Exchange speculation has reached 20-1 as tho probable Nationalist majority. Mr. Mac Donald faces a difficult task among the Durham miners, all well drilled for a year in obedience to the party machine. Even if he receives the whole of the Conservative and Liberal votes in the constituency, he must in addition detach nearly 12,000 Labour vote;; to obtain a bare majority. Mr. Henderson, who is abed with a cold, has not an easy task at Burnley, where he has practically a straight light against Admiral Campbell, of mystery ship fame. Mr. J. H. Thomas, at Derby to-night, said that he was seeking an opportunity to reconvene a meeting of Dominion representatives to see if they could not mako themselves more dependent on one another and less dependent on the outside world. Plans for announcing the results on Rlection night are more complete than ever. The 8.8.C. is broadcasting till the small hours on Wednesday, and many large cinemas in London and suburbs are keeping open similarly at reducfid prices, interspersing pictures with election figures.
