(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CHBISTCHUKCH, This Day

Westou, farm economist at Lincoln College, when addressing the Farmers' Union executive of the South Island at a conference) to-day. The abandonment- of gold altogether as a basis of credit would be a forward move for the farming community, said Dr. Weston. If England had not gone o(T the gold standard New Zealand would have had to cancel some of its debts.
