SYDNEY WOOL MARKET

SYDNEY, 19th October. At the wool sales to-day, 11,230 bales were offered, 10.76S being Sold at auction; also 1972 bales were disposed of privately. Competition very strong. The market contained, all the best features of last week. Greasy merino made up to 15d per lb. The average price obtained last week was £10 15s 8d per bale, or 8.09 d per lb.

The following statement, compiled by the National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australia, covers the receipts of the 1931-32 clip into store, the total disposals to the end of September, and the balances in store in each centre then awaiting sale:—Receipts, 1,026,864 bales; disposals, 237,655 bales*; in store, 789,209 bales.
