SUBMERSION'S OFFSPRING

Emotion, winner of the Maiden Stakes MastertoD on Saturday >. is v light-fleshed five-year-old bright chestnut gelding \by Lord Quex from the1 Elevation mare Submersion; and, although there "was not particular merit in' his " defeat of -the rather poor opposition, that was ranged against him, he should improve with the vaee and is likely to , take his turn again in ordinary hack class. He carries the

colours of his breeder, Mr. VV. E. Bidwill, whoso horses have not been seen much in public since last Easter.

Emotion's dam, Submersion, had another representative ut the meeting in Projection, a six-year-old brown gelding by Kilbroney, who ran second to Eminent in the Lawn Handicap. Projection, owixed by Mr. J. J. Corry, is only a moderate, being of the plodding type, but he is very.well' at present and will be unlucky not to win a race ou the country circuits.

The only other offspring of Submersion was Subjection, the oldest of the three, who won races three and four seasons back. This- gelding had his first success in the Lawn Handicap at Masterton in 1025, when running in the Bidwill livery. Subsequently he won rices for the Hawera owner-trainer, O. Cox.
