. Rugby fixtures in Britain resulted as follows:—The South Africans beat London by 30 points to 3, at Twickenham.
Bristol was beaten by Bath by, 13 to 11; Cambridge, University beat Harlequins, 26-13; Cardiff beat Gloucester, 17-6; Leicester drew with Newport, 8-8; London Scottish was defeated by Blackheath, 20-11; Northampton lost to Pontypools, 5-9;. Oxford University beat Old Merchant Taylors, 13-0; Portsmouth Services lost to Devonport Services,; 0-8.
