KARORI CLUB

On Saturday the Karori Defence Rifle Club shot over the 500 and _600 yards ranges. The wind was of fair strength and veering. Rain had been' threatening all day, but held off except for a light shower at 600 yards, when the targets were particularly hard to see. The bad light all the afternoon probably accounted for the scores being somewhat. low, although J. 1.-King put on a good shoot, reaching the club standard at both ranges, and securing, the scratch weekly trophy with an aggregate of 92. The handicap weekly trophy was won by a promising new member, W. P. Andrews. F. W. Chinff recorded the highest individual range score, a particularly good 48 under the conditions. Dcp.-Pres. H. V. Croxton was next with 47. Next Saturday the club will shoot at 300 and 600 yards. The scores were: — , 500 600 I yds. yds. Hep. Tl. .LLKhw ........ .. 47. , 45 .~. ,92 F. W.
