HATAITAF CLUB

This year the Hataitai Bowling Club entered upon its twenty-first year of existence, and in honour of the occasion, Mrs. ¥. D. Kean, wife of the president, presented to the club on Saturday a Bilyer kitty to be used at opening ceremonies. On behalf of her mother, Miss Mavis Kean sent down the new kitty.: The guests were welcomed by Mr. X D. ■Kean. president of the club. Mr. Kean said that Jie wished to extend special thanks to the ladies who had done so much for the club. He mentioned that since last season the club had changed from a limited company into an' incorporated society, and he thanked those who had assisted in making the change-over pos- ' After the first bowl had been delivered by Mr. F. Lamberg, a life member ofthe club, a few games were played. Afternoon tea was later served in the pavilion, which had been tastefully arranged for the occasion. A special feature was the glorious display of spring flowers which adorned the tables. The afternoon tea arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames W. J. Young, J. Kershaw, W. A. Woolley, and L. MrCrea. Among those present were Mr. R. Sample., M.P., and Mrs. Seinple.
