The first annual meeting of , the -Wellington branch of the New.Zeakndfcs^ tute of Chemistry was held, at Victoria College recently, when Mr. G. A. Lawrence presided over a good .attendance of mem6The annual report, stated that, the Wellington branch/ constituted in, Janu«|JJ' 1931, now has a membership of 33. Five meetings iwere ..held during the .year, : at which papers on a wide variety, of subjects were presented. The. membership total and interest shown augur well for the future,, while it.is1 already apparent thai^ the New Zealand Institute of Chemiswy, will do rijuch'to the profession of chemistry in New Zealand. ■ . .'^ An election of officers.for 1932 resulted, in the.'following appointments: Chairman' and delegate to New Zealand Council, Mrs R. t.
