A VISIT TO ELFLAND
One day littla Queenie Brown lay Under the apple tree in her garden. The sun was very hot that day, and it made her feel sleepy. Suddenly a little voice said, '< Queenie, would you like to come to Elfland?" Queenie looked up, and in the topmost bough of the tree she saw a tiny elf «dressed in green and red. Queenie was delighted at this idea, and you can guess what the answer was. Soon they were soaring high above the clouds, and when Qneenie looked down she felt, frightened; but Orange Belt (for that was the elf's name) said it was all right. Soon they came to a shining palace in which ruled King Tippetty-Toes. The elf said they were to visit the palace. When they arrived King Tippetty-Toes came off his throne to meet Qneenie and her companion. They were led all through the palace, and Orange Belt, His Majesty, and Queenie •aw the most glorious sights ever teen. Suddenly a small elf came running np. "Your Majesty," he said, "the banquet is ready 1" The King led Qneenie and Orange Belt to the aunny room where it was held; but just as Qneenie was going to sit down a shower of water fell on her face. "Ob, oh I" screamed Queenie. She woke up and it was Gaining hard, and mother had inn out to tell'Queenie to wake up and -come inside.
