PETONE CLUB'S YEAR

■ The fourth annual report of the Petone Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club, to be presented to the annual meeting in the Oddfellows' Hall, Petone, next Tuesday, states that last season the club's finances showed a credit balance. To date the club had repaid £129 9s Id on the cycle track. The triangular contest between the WangaBui, Kia Toa (Palmereton North), and Petone clubs was won by Petone, but the club lost a contest against Lower Hutt. | The final meeting held , by. the. club in , February raised over £50 for the EarthI quake Relief Fund. During the season the club was honoured by having four championships won by its members. < G. Bayne won the Wellington provincial and the New Zealand one mile championships, T. Roe won the Wellington provincial halfmile cycle championship, and G. Clarke won the Wellington provincial junior halfmile championship. The ladies' section of; the club, was.weak, but was expected to be stronger in the ■ coming season.
