MURITAI CLUB
The annual general meeting of the Muritai Tennis Club was held recently. Mr. H. W. Shortt, president of the clul), was in the chair. The annual report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted, and the president congratulated the club on ■ the season's performances .and financial position. He also commended the committee and social committee on their work of management, particularly the captain, secretary, and treasurer. , , It was decided to reduce subscriptions 5s •11 round. . ~ The meeting suggested to the committee that an open tournament should be held during the holidays between Christmas and New Year. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. "W. Nash, M.P.; president, Mr. H. W. Shortt; vice-presidents, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Fisher, Mayor and Mayoress of Eastbourne, Mrs. H. W. Shortt, Messrs. C. T. Andrew, C. H. Andrews, H. Black, W. G. Blackey, T. Hamer, C. Hartridge, P. Macassej', M. F. Marks, F. H. Mather, A. Marshall, L. Carstens, W. Perry, K. H. Ronayne, A. Walker, and Rev. W. Eaine. Active life honorary member, Mr. H. W. Shortt; committee, Mrs. J. Eobinson, Misses D. Scaife and I V. Shortt, and Messrs. D. Catley, W. P. Hollings, and W. D. P. Kitching.; social committee, Mrs. J. Robinson, Misses M. Black, W. Richards, and M. Stewart, and Messrs. D. Catley, F. CorWtt, W. D. P. Kit-
clung,l and J. M'Toms; club captain, Mr. E W. Shortt; deputy club captain, Mr. M. H. Braund; hon. secretary, Mr. W. V Fisher; hon. treasurer, Miss M.
