Consequently southerly winds have continued to prevail,. mainly light to moderate in force, but strong at places in the.far north and along the east coast of the Xofth Islands The weather has been fair-to fine generally, but showers = have fallen north of Auckland and in the far south, arid a few scattered showers also were'reported last higlit in the Cook Strait area.
