Carter, manager or" the Union Bank of Australia, Palmerstou North, has been appointed 'manager of the Union Bank at Brisbane..Mr. Carter was bom in Adelaide, South Australia, being educated at St. Peter's-! College. He came to Now .'Zealand'tflffeuty-five "years ago after having had '^banking experience in every State in Australia except; Queensland. Later, he managed branches of the Union itßank in Helensville, Hamilton, and "Palinerston North. Before going to HelensVille Mr. Carter acted as accountant at the Palmerston North branch for' twelve months. Ho returned to Palmerston 'North eighteen years ago, and has resided there ever since. During'his residence in Palmerston North Mr. Carter has taken a prominent part in musical activities, and has been one of the stalwarts of tho Palmerston North Orchestral Society, itnd tLe long record of success achieved by that body owes not a little to his energy and enthusiasm. Mr. Carter has also been an enthusiastic tennis player and golfer, and has taken a prominent' part in the Palmerston North Lawn Tennis Club's management.
