HOLDING ONE DAY ONLY
The South Canterbury Jockey Club's committee has decided to hold a "oneday meeting" in October. It may apply for permission to use the second day's spring permit in June next.
The draft programme was adopted as follows:— Otaio Hurdles, of 110 soys, one mile and a half; Tyeho Hack Handicap, of 300 soys, six furlongs; Washdyke Trot Handicap, of 100 soys (3min 42sec class), one mile and a half; Timaru Cup, of 200 soys, one mile and a quarter; Spring Stakes, of 75 soys, five furlongs; Hadlow Trot, of 100 soys (2niin 58sec class), one mile and a quarter; Kerrytowri Hack Handicap, of 100 soys, one mile alid 35 yards; Flying Handicap, of 120 soys. six furlongs.
