Thontson, Under-Secretary for Immigratibu (chairman), Mr. P. Campbell (Wellington), Mrs. Marshall Macdonaid (Dunediu), and Miss J3. E. Carna ■ chau (Auckland) —assembled .yesterday' and met the members of the Unemployment Board. The chairman of tho Unemployment Board, the Hon. S. G. Smith, thanked the members of tho committee, on behalf of the board, for accepting office, and cordially welcomed them. Ho exprossed tho hopo that as a result of their investigations and recommendations tho way would bo nmdo clear for the co-ordination of tho'splendid volun> tary efforts bow being made in various parts of tho Dominion by tho women's unemployment committees. Both tho lady members of tho committoO had a, reputation which . was'backed ■by ripe experience) and sound judgment, and Mr. Campbell had been specially chosen by ■ reason of his close interest in, and knowledgo of, tho secondary industries.
