UNSATISFACTORY STATE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. Condemnation of the condominium in tho New Hebrides, which is administered jointly by the British and French, was voiced by Bishop Molyneiix of Melanesia, who arrived by the Niagara after completing an extensive tour of his island diocese. He stated that the news of the public execution by tho French authorities of six Chinese at Vila reached him in Australia. He was horrified to read details concerning the use of the guillotine before an idle crowd of several hundreds of spectators. "I have protested more than once concerning tho atrocities that- have been brought to my notice," said Bishop Molynoux, "and the news of (lie recent affair did not surprise me. I am sorry to say (hat it is what ouo has been led to expect of tho French side of the administration. I have myself seen on the island of Santo a g:\ng of prisoners chained together working under guards armed with a lash. The methods adopted Ijy the French toward their prisoners urn totally different from those of the British. "The condominium is umknilitedly bad, and everybody who Unov|f; any. thing about it in London is in agreement on that point," concluded Bishop B Jlulyucux.
