MAN STRUCK BY MOTOR-

CAR

(By Telegraph.—Press Afflinciation.)

INVERCARGILL, 20th August. Dennis Ryan, a single man of Invercargill, was knocked down by a car on the North road this evening, and received injuries to his head which subsequently proved fatal.

It is stated that the deceased and another man were walking along the road wheeling bicycles when they were overtaken by a motorist.

■' An ambulance was called, but Ryan died before he reached' the hospital.
